ChoicePoint® Ranks No. 25 on InformationWeek 500 List Among Providers of Consulting & Business Services

ALPHARETTA, Ga. - September 18, 2006 - ChoicePoint today announced it is ranked among the top 25 providers of consulting and business services in the 2006 listing of the InformationWeek 500. ChoicePoint was cited for its innovation in information technology, including authentication solutions and information security.

For 18 years, the InformationWeek 500 has tracked the technology practices of the nation's most innovative companies across 21 industries. Documenting the business-technology strategies, investments and administrative practices of some of America's best-known companies, the annual study offers companies a unique opportunity to understand and compare their IT approaches against the most innovative users of technology.

The InformationWeek 500 honors the nation's most inventive users of information technology. To make the list, a company must demonstrate a pattern of technological, procedural and organizational innovation.

"By imaginatively mixing and matching emerging and mainstream technologies, this year's InformationWeek 500 companies have a superior understanding of their operations and know how to connect with employees, suppliers and customers to drive profits," according to the magazine.

"This is a great honor for ChoicePoint and our teams, which are committed to bringing enhanced solutions to our clients through the innovative use of technology," said Darryl Lemecha, ChoicePoint chief information officer. "Being included on the InformationWeek 500 list is further affirmation that we have been successful in our efforts."

Two ChoicePoint efforts were highlighted by InformationWeek.

The first was a project that focused on personal authentication solutions, which demonstrated ChoicePoint's "most innovative business-technology initiative completed in the last year." ChoicePoint developed custom software and partnered with hardware vendor, Identix, to develop a cost-effective, timely fingerprinting solution to help companies conduct reliable background screens of current or potential employees. Compared to the previous manual process, the technology significantly reduces collection time and the potential for errors, and substantially improves turnaround time for results.

To demonstrate innovation in information security, ChoicePoint also profiled a best-of-breed integrated information security program developed to minimize risks and maximize investments. A major component was a risk dashboard that linked multiple security metrics to present one overall snapshot of risks, show where existing opportunities for improvement existed and ensure accountability. Automated workflows were created as well to quickly and electronically assign, manage and track problem resolution from beginning to end and enhance overall customer service.

InformationWeek is a weekly print magazine that provides unique perspective and in-depth analysis on news, research and IT (information technology) trends.
