Michigan Highway Patrol Request

To increase the turn-around-time on receiving your reports when requesting them from the Michigan Highway Patrol, providing the following items will dramatically speed up the process and help you proceed with the claim settlement:

  • Report or Incident Number
  • Driver's License Number
  • Driver's License State

As always, please provide any additional information you may have on your report request, as it is better to have more information than not enough to aid in locating your report.

OrderPoint Helpful Hints and Tips

To assist you with your OrderPoint searches, the following helpful hints and tips will aid in locating your requested reports:

  • A VIN should always be 17 characters in length.
  • A VIN will NEVER contain the following letters: I, O or Q.
  • If you don't have a VIN, enter the vehicle year, make and model if you have it.
  • Always include cross streets when you have them.
  • Include information on all parties involved on your request.

Summer Safety

  • Never leave children alone in your car, even if it is only for a few minutes.
  • Watch for children at play while driving, especially during summer break from school.
  • Always turn off your car and take the keys with you when you exit the vehicle at a destination.
  • Leave pets at home during hot days, since it’s less stressful for them (and you!).
  • Check tire pressure at least monthly.
